Join us to dig deep, discover hidden truths about the foods we eat, and uncover the roots that shape our world — no soil unturned!
Digging Up the Roots is a mini-conference led by the iconic, Chef Velvet. This event was created in partnership with Sheena Williams, Chef Luv, and Black on Black Market to reconnect us with what truly nourishes our bodies and our communities. Expanding the mission of the film, Unearthing the Soul of Food, this gathering opens space to explore where our food comes from, what's really in it, and how harmful ingredients and processed options have shaped the health of Black neighborhoods for generations.
Attendees can expect giveaways, a food facts panel, plant-based food, vendors, and more!
